2011 Update
We were far to busy to hold a fundraiser this year. However, we made great strides in fundraising as Pinson Communications was our lead underwriter this year who donated over $22,000. We donated over $31,000 directlty to Tampa Bay's homeless shelters, marine aminal rescrew, Boys & Girls Club, Hospice, and several other projects.
2010 Pinson Foundation Haiti Mission
In January 2010, the Pinson Foundation lead 11 person medical team to Haiti just shortly after the earthquake in Haiti. The Foundation distributed over $250,000 in food, medical supplies, and generators to three orphanages. The medical team also rendered medical care and performed surgeries in conjunction with the University of Miami Mobile Field Hospital, and several local Haitian clinics.
In May 2010, the Pinson Foundation returned to Haiti. In conjunction with the Brazilian Army and United Nations, the Pinson Foundation team procured transportation to facilitate the re-distribution of $300,000 in food and medical supplies obtained from the University of Miami supply warehouse in Port au Prince. The supplies were delivered to orphanages, tent cities for the homeless, and mission clinics.
The Pinson Foundation sponsored all hard and travel costs for the Team, paid for shipping and flying emergency supplies to the team while in Haiti, and donated additional funds to the Haiti Gospel Mission and Port au Prince Christian Mission. These two missions also support related orphanages and a "Tent City" supporting over 700 Haitians who are homeless from the January 2010 Earthquake.
